Father Heart of God

1 John 1:3 "How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what are"

The father heart of God was by far the most amazing week to date. We had a guest speaker Frank Naea. Frank was the International president of YWAM from 2000 - 2003. He has been with YWAM for 20 years +. I can first hand say he is an amazing man of God. He has the kindest smile and the biggest hugs.

Frank taught us the principles of the Father Heart of God.

Why don't we trust God? Why do we doubt God's love? It goes back to Genesis where Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. Satan convinced Eve to eat the fruit, by saying that God was holding out on them, causing them to doubt God! When they hid from God because they were naked, God said "Who told you?" Who told you that you were naked? Who told you that you are worthy? Who told you that I couldn't be trusted? Who told your destiny? Who told you who you are?

We are to find ourselves in Christ!

God wants to renew us from all our hurts in the past, he wants to take the old and broken and renew it!

Once we can receive the Fathers love for us, we then need to ask God how we can show others God's love. How can we show people the Father heart of our living God? Ask God WHAT he wants us to say to someone, and then HOW he wants us to say it?

So for the remainder of the week we put what we learnt into action. So we all drew a name out of a hat of someone in the class, where we needed to ask God What he wanted to say and how he wanted us to say it.

I was given James, an islander from Hawaii, which I had to share the father heart of God. God told me to write James a song, and perform it in front of class! It was an awesome experience to go through and practise how we can share God's love with others, it even takes you a bit to step out of your comfort zone and obey what God wants for you, but then in return being able to really truly bless others.

During the application, I was also shown the father heart of God by others in the class. God wanted to celebrate my life, and three people all felt that was what God wanted to do. I was so blessed that day, I had my leader make me a cake, words of encouragement, prayer and God blessed me with a Taylor Guitar. WOW, thanks God. One of the school leaders felt that God wanted him to give away his Guitar...TO ME! At first I was amazed that the leader just gave his guitar away, I was amazed at his obedience and generosity. But then I came to realise, on top of that.. GOD GAVE ME A GUITAR. God loves me so much, he wanted to give me a present. (cool hey!?)

God is Great. He loves me and he loves you! We the children of the living God.

Lordship

This week we have been talking about Lordship. Initially I wasn't too keen, I thought it would be a rather boring topic, just stuff we've heard before about God before. But I was wrong!

Lordship is the submission of our entire life and what we believe to be our rights to God. God has created us, He is LORD of ALL. By giving ourselves to him, he is just getting back what's rightfully his! At the foot of the cross, we deserve noting but death!

This week has been a process of recognising that GOD IS GOD.. and I AM NOT!

There is no half way mark, It's either total submission to God's will Or Rebellion. He is LORD OF ALL or Not at all!

We are learning that God's will is the best place for you to be. When you hear God's call - OBEY! God calls us to Go unto all the nations to spread the good word. So really, we need a call from God NOT to go. We need a call to stay home!

We get so caught up and focused on what God wants to take from us, that our hands are so full that we loose sight of how much God wants to GIVE to us. But it comes down to submitting all we have to the Lord!
